One might expect a medical device company on the prowl for profit, and steeped in the notion that anything goes in the quest to stifle the competition and dominate the market...to offer doctors a trip to Disney world, or tickets to the World Series (hush hush). But funding routine visits for physicians to a Memphis strip club, and picking up the tab for dancers' services during "VIP" visits, must have tickled their spines. No, this is not pulp fiction. According to a story appearing in today's Wall Street Journal's Law Blog, this loosey goosey Medtronic practice, and others like it, were pervasive (read the story here). Suddenly, a very long tale gets a lot shorter. Need we say more?
