Suzuki's Blame the Rider Approach is Paper Thin

Motorcycle riders and sport bike enthusiasts were shocked by the news-- more than 20,000 Suzuki GSX-R1000 suffer from a deadly defect: the frames fracture from routine stress and it can cause the front end of the bike to break off and separate during normal operation. You need not be a safety engineer to know that the front end of a motorcycle should never fall off – especially on a bike that is designed to exceed speeds of 160 mph.
Suzuki took more than four years to advise the American public that the GSXR bike frames could suddenly fracture and fall apart, but the company was quick to blame the problem on riders who engage in “reckless stunts” like “wheelies.” The recall letter suggests that GSX-R1000 was not designed to do wheelies. Apparently, the lawyers who drafted Suzuki’s recall letters failed to advise Suzuki team riders of the company's "official policy":

Geoff May, Robert Cianflone, and Sebastian "Basti" Lindholm.

Clearly, Suzuki’s attempt to blame riders for the GSX-R1000 is as thin as the paper it's written on.
