Sign Of The Times As Bausch & Lomb Ignores SEC Rules

Bausch & Lomb seems to be taking a lacksadaisical attitude toward everything these days. In an article today in the Rochester Business Journal, Bausch is seen explaining that documents due within 6 months of the end of last fiscal year will again be delayed as financial discrepancies overseas are being investigated internally.

Bausch adopted a similar laissez faire attitude recently when their ReNu with MoistureLoc started a firestorm of fungal and bacterial eye infections in SIngapore and the Phillipines, which reached critical mass in the Far East late last summer. Bausch's response until April of this year was to ignore the rules of responsible corporate governance and keep the problem under wraps and the product on the market. After statistics of the Far East and a smoldering problem in the American market converged on the Bausch corporate radar simultaneously, Bausch's decision was to leave the product on the market. Whether through ignorance or arrogance, their failures to timely file documents that all corporations must file like clockwork annually, further highlights this company's disdain for the rules that protect both shareholders and consumers.
